Abstract
The work presented offers an analysis into the shapes and sizes of the dental arches in 684 patients of both sexes in their early adulthood who reveal physiological occlusion of the permanent teeth. The study outcomes show that the universal Damon braces system does not match all types of the dental arches to be found in cases of physiological occlusion of permanent teeth. The one that is closest in shape and size is the arch of brachygnathic shape with the permanent teeth normodontia and macrodontia. In case of the mesognathic shape combined with macrodontia of the permanent teeth the Damon arch has a size and shape that are close to the parameters of the anterior dental arch.
